An English Breakfast Tea with an Extra Edge
Not many people would recommend messing with an English Breakfast Tea - it’s the nation's most loved blend after all. With Rise, we didn’t see it as messing with the blend, we saw it as enhancing, in more ways than one. In true Mission style, we’ve used 100% natural, science-led ingredients to help people to fuel something extraordinary, everyday.
For this blend, we used the highest quality Indian Assam tea, for its full flavour and because it provides the right amount of caffeine, heaps of L-theanine (which is an amino acid that helps to slow down the absorption of caffeine, enabling a sustained buzz and consistent energy levels).
Working in collaboration with High Performance, we then added natural nootropics to the blend. It took a lot of work to find nootropics that didn’t impact the flavour - as we were adamant this would taste exactly like a breakfast tea.
We were determined to bring you a blend that matched the same comforting experience of drinking your usual english breakfast tea, but with an optimised function.

Premium Indian Assam Black Tea
A natural stimulant that provides the right amount of the right type of caffeine, achieving sustained energy levels. Assam black tea also has a high L-theanine content - an amino acid which slows down the absorption of caffeine and boosts your alpha brain waves. This results in improved alertness and mental clarity, without the jitters.
Yerba Mate:
This leaf is a great source of sustained caffeine release. The low dose of caffeine alongside an abundance of antioxidants and polyphenols provide a host of benefits such as neuro-stimulatory, anti-inflammatory properties.
Ginkgo Biloba
Has been associated with cognitive enhancement (memory, brain health) or alleviating cognitive decline. There is also research supporting its benefits to blood flow and a reduction in stress through influencing cortisol release.
Gotu Kola
This herb is renowned for its cognitive enhancing properties such as alertness, attention. There is also growing research on its use for stress reduction.
Hawthorne
These ingredients work in synergy to give you an immediate boost of mental focus, reduce stress + fatigue and lead to improved mood and productivity. All in the familiar taste of an English breakfast tea.
High Quality Ingredients
On top of our ingredients, we also pride ourselves in using premium quality tea leaves within our plastic free tea bags.
Some of you may have seen Ellie’s video on the tea leaves used in a well known, standard tea bag. This is one of the most common issues with many modern tea companies. Often, they will use the residue of the tea leaves, which ends up being the fine powder that you see in most tea bags. This results in a strong, bitter taste and minimal functionality. With Mission, we use the whole leaf, and other whole ingredients. No processing at all occurs to the blends, so the leaves are all still intact and you can get the maximum benefits out of each bag.
It is the premium quality of all our ingredients that enables our blends, including Rise, to deliver their function and flavour.
